Economy Rose Didymium

These economy didymium are good for occasional viewing of heat sources greater than 1000 degrees F. Use when periodically looking into a small kiln when fusing; when lampworking and beadmaking using hot head torches and MAPP gas, or propane torches with soft glass. Meet Z87.1 1989 standard for occupational eye and face protection.

FLIP DOWNS

These 1/2 lens, #5 flip down clip-ons give you extra protection while looking directly at the flame or into the glory hole. Flip them up when working at the bench where dark #5 lenses are too dark. We reccomend that you clip them to didymium safety glasses for double protection. Only fit plastic framed glasses.

All Arrow Vision light filtering spectacles include a protective carrying case. The didymium spectacles come with a soft case. All others come with a hard case and an adjustable head strap.

AV 2000

The AV 2000 uses a lens filter material that has become the glass workers favorite for features, comfort and affordability. The AV 2000's best feature is how well it excels at filtering out the sodium flare. Sodium flare is the bright yellow orange that glass produces in the flame. It is uncomfortable to look at and masks the working area of the glass. AV 2000 filters out so much more of the sodium flare than ordinary didymium filters that you almost can't see it at all. AV 2000 is the clear choice for sodium flare reduction. In addition, AV 2000 also color enhances in the blue, green and red spectrums. Red color enhancing is particularly important when judging the temperature of glass by its amount of red glow. Ordinary didymium lenses filter away most of the red glow, while AV 2000 lenses lets you see most of it. Additionally, AV 2000 filters out most ultraviolet and considerably more of infrared than didymium lenses.
