STUMP SHAPER

Designed for glass bead sculptural genius, Loren Stump, to aid him in producing the incredible detail and definition he has become so famous for. One 2" side has a radius on its edge. The opposite side has a 1/4" radius that tapers to a point at the end of the paddle where the corner of the paddle is rounded. The end of the paddle is machined to a knife edge. Coined as the "STUMP SHAPER", you will find that this will be a most valuable tool in creating your own sculptural beads and murrinis.

STUMP SUCKER

Stump Sucker with hose set. Used to vacuum case small glass sculptures that can be used for beads, buttons, small sculptures, marbles, and small paper weights as well as for making components in large paper weights and large sculptures. To use, place your glass setup in the bottom of the tapered graphite hole. At the bottom of the hole is a perforated graphite disk. Heat up the glob of glass in the torch or gather glass from a crucible. Heat the setup with a micro torch to prevent fine bubbles from forming on the surface. Be careful not to over heat and distort hte setup. Place the moltem glass over the hole. You need to keep the molten glass rather spherical while it seals the hole and begins to drop into the hole. Immediately suck on the hose. When done properly, the molten glass will completely fill in around the setup. Requires advanced skill levels.
