FB-3 with Cutting Down Unit

Essemce mechanical boy FB-3 is available with a built in cutdown unit. The unit is permanently mounted on the mold plate and consists of two square shafts which are rotated by an air cylinder. The arms are screwed on to these shafts. The cutters, which are preferably made of carbon steel or carbon are screwed on to loose fit holders which are easily replaceable. The cutting down operation is controlled with a foot valve from the foot plate. An adjustable time valve in the valve section of the cutting down unit starts cooling off the glass at the desired time after beginning cutting. Cooling and cutting continue for as long as the pedal is depressed. When the cutting unit is not in use, the arms are simply removed and the mould plate can be used in the normal way. FB-3W with Automatic Water Cooling

The FB-3W is the same as the unit above, but without the cutting down unit.  The FB-3 should be connected to an air supply at 70 psi. Air use is extremely low. Should also be connected to a water supply and drain. The platform is adjustable from about 4" to 14". The mold plate is adjustable in height from 6" to floor height. The mold is opened and shut by a compressed air piston controlled by a pedal conveniently located on the platform. After the mold has opened, cooling water is sprayed automatically from two adjustable nozzles. The spraying period is adjustable from 1 to 60 seconds by a knob on the timing valve. Floor space needed: 40" x24"  Weight 130lbs. The distance from the back of the mold to the arm handle holders in the closed position is about 10". The distance between the handle holders when the arms are open is about 15" Special order item – please call for details.

FB-4 with Automatic Water Cooling

The FB-4W is primarily designed for large molds with outside diameters up to 14". Equipped with wheels so it is easy to move.  The FB-3 should be connected to an air supply at 70 psi. Air use is extremely low. Should also be connected to a water supply and drain. The platform is adjustable from about 4" to 18". The mold plate is adjustable in height from 6" to floor height. Floor space needed: 48" x38" Weight 170lbs. The distance from the back of the mold to the arm handle holders in the closed position is about 20". The distance between the handle holders when the arms are open is about 26". The FB-4 can be made to work from a platform. Special order item – please call for details.

FB-N In-floor Unit

The FB-N is designed to be lowered into the floor. The machine consists of a mold plate which can be raised and lowered by means of a crank. The arms for the water cooling are mounted on the mold plate. Valves and filter equipment are grouped beneath the fixed footplate which lies flush with the floor. Similar in function to FB-4 and 4. When the mold plate is not in use, the plate is screwed down and the opening is covered with a hatch. Special order item – please call for details.
